Username Policy

Effective June 8, 2026

Usernames are unique, memorable identifiers for instant payments. A well-chosen username builds trust and reduces the risk of confusion or errors in financial transactions. This policy establishes the rules so usernames are used fairly, legally, and responsibly.

By selecting or using a username, you agree to this policy, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws.

1. Availability & assignment

Usernames are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and are intended for immediate and active personal or legitimate business use.

90-day inactivity rule. If an account shows no meaningful activity for 90 consecutive days, the associated username may be automatically released back into the pool of available names without prior notice.

2. Technical requirements

  • Length: Between 8 and 20 characters (inclusive).
  • Allowed characters: Only letters (A–Z, a–z) and numbers (0–9). No hyphens, underscores, spaces, emojis, or other punctuation.
  • Starting character: Must begin with a letter or number.
  • Uniqueness: Must be unique across the platform. All usernames are stored and displayed in lowercase only.
  • Readability: Choose a name that is easy for others to read and type when sending or requesting payments.

3. Prohibited usernames & uses

The following are strictly prohibited: impersonation or misleading names; intellectual property infringement; username squatting and selling or trading names; offensive, harmful, or illegal content; reserved or system-like names such as admin, support, firma, cash, bank, pay, swiss, compliance, or legal; and any other violation of applicable law or the Terms of Service.

4. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for choosing a username to which you have legitimate legal rights and that does not infringe the rights of any third party. Do not register usernames on behalf of others or for resale.

5. Enforcement

Firma may review, reject, reclaim, rename, suspend, or disable any username at any time. When a violation is identified, we will typically notify you and provide a reasonable window (usually 7–14 days) to select a new, compliant username. In cases involving fraud, impersonation, or imminent harm, we may act immediately.

6. Reporting

Report trademark claims or policy violations to support@firma.cash with your contact information, proof of rights, the username in question, and examples of confusion or harm.

7. No ownership

Usernames are provided under a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license for use solely within the Firma platform. You do not own any username. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service. Questions: support@firma.cash
